When asked about the incident, District Superintendent of Police Attada Babujee told The Hans India that the police were inquiring into the issue and action will be initiated against the police constable after thorough investigation. She was later suspended for recording the video during duty hours. Meanwhile, DGP D Gautam Sawang at a programme in Vijayawada talked tough on the unhealthy trend. He said that steps would be initiated to ensure such incidents in the department would not recur. However, despite the controversies, the app users have been significantly growing across the globe. Despite the backlash, scores of people have downloaded the app. There were incidents where homemakers got hooked to video sharing platform, spending hours and neglecting their family responsibilities.
