It’s been a busy week here in the Geek offices, with the gaming world focused on Gamescom in Germany and Motorola shipping out our shiny new Moto X. Join us for a Geekout on these and other topics of the week.An all new Moto X crossed our desk this week, and this “Powered by Geek.com” smartphone showed up with more than just a nice paint job. The camera, display, and casing all looked and felt superior to the Verizon Wireless Moto X issued to us for our review. If you head to our new and improved review of the Moto X, you can read all about it.Gamescom may not be a well known gaming conference, but there’s no shortage of people in attendance this year. Sony and EA took the opportunity to hold full press events with new information all over the place. EA had plenty to talk about when it came to Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and FIFA 13, as well as the rest of their next-gen console lineup. Sony, on the other hand, offered the world a discounted PS Vita complete with cheaper memory cards and a look at the PS4 UI. They also waited until the very last second of their conference to announce that US shelves will be stocked with the new console just long enough for you to rip them down on November 15.While Microsoft didn’t see fit to respond with their own launch date, it’s hard to imagine it will too far off the PS4 launch. If you’re having trouble choosing which console is going to be sitting in your Living Room come November, take a look at the list of exclusives headed to each console this year. Our App of the Week this week is a virtual keyboard replacement for Android. The Minuum keyboard is a fresh take on mobile touch keyboards, and if you’re interested in taking a look at how it works you can either check out our brief demo or head to the Google Play Store. If you’d like to join us on our weekly Geekouts, or if you’ve got a topic you’d like us to talk about on next week’s broadcast, leave us a message here or on our Google+ page. We’re also now in audio-only if you’d prefer to check us out with your ears instead of your eyes.
