first_imgNext month, Melbourne’s Music Week will commence, with a host of interesting and diverse performances scheduled for music lovers. One such event taking place at the Hellenic Museum’s spectacular MPavilion is Hydra: Songs and Tales of Bohemia. Weaving music, song, documentary footage and narrative, the minds behind the project have managed to recreate the zeitgeist of the Greek island of Hydra in the 1960s. From Leonard Cohen to Allen Ginsberg, Sidney Nolan to Peter Finch, artists gravitated around the glamorous Australian literary couple George Johnston and Charmian Clift on this tiny Aegean island in a time of rebellion, romance and creativity. From songs by Cohen to Chris Fatouros and Spiros Falieros, the period will be recreated and celebrated across three nights. A bar will be open serving Greek mezze and drinks throughout the night.A ticketed event, entry is $25 per person and can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com.au/e/hydra-songs-and-tales-of-bohemia-tickets-1883687…When: 13, 14 and 20 November from 7.00 pm-10.00 pm (AEDT)Where: MPavilion, Hellenic Museum, 280 William Street, Melbourne, VIC Facebook Twitter: @NeosKosmos Instagramlast_img
